Quincy, IL – Gladys (Smith) (Pratt) Gebhardt 84, formerly of Whitman, MA and Keene, NH died Wednesday June 27 in her Illinois home.
Born December 8, 1926 in Quincy, MA she was the daughter of the late Harvey A. and Marie Smith. On July 2, 1942 she married Walter Pratt in Whitman, MA. He preceded her in death August 1975. Gladys married Kenneth Gebhardt on August 26, 1984 in Keene, NH
Gladys was a generous person and had a good sense of humor. She never forgot a birthday or an anniversary, and she always remembered to send birthday and anniversary cards. She loved her family and liked to spend time with her children and her grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter Linda (Ron) Hanlin of Quincy, IL, three sons Robert D. (Peggy) Pratt of Abington, Thomas A. Pratt of Hanover, and Donald A. (Lynne) Pratt of Rockland; two step-children Steve (Abby) LaMarine of Bellingham, WA and Jayne Pratt of CT; ten grandchildren Christopher (Candice) Hanlin of Quincy, Ronni Lynn (Steve) Nelson of Caldwell, ID, Walter, Derek, Christina, Andrea, Genevieve and Ryan Pratt, Michele Rountry and Michael Haggerty all of Massachusetts, seven step-grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. In addition to her spouses Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and eight brothers and sisters.
Her services will be held Tuesday July 5 at 7 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 4 – 7 PM. Burial will be at a later date in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman.
