...retired Sears Appliance Repairman; 76
TEWKSBURY - Francis W. "Frank" Weisensee, age 76, a well known resident of Tewksbury, died Wednesday morning, June 29, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, following a courageous six month health battle. He was the beloved husband of Barbara S. (Gillingham) Weisensee, with whom he had celebrated a 53rd wedding anniversary this past May 9th.
He was born in Brighton, MA on October 24, 1934, a son of the late William and Helen Mary (Dion) Weisensee. He was raised in Lexington, and graduated from Waltham Trade School. Upon graduation he enlisted into the U.S. Air Force, and served in Japan during the Korean War.
He retired from Sears-Roebuck in 1995, where he had worked as an appliance repairman for over 30 years.
He was an avid fan of NASCAR automobile racing, and was described as having a deep love of animals. However, he will be long remembered for his love and dedication to his family.
Besides his wife, he is survived by five children and their spouses, Timothy M. Weisensee and his wife Marie (Tallini) of Townsend, Kelly F. Weisensee of Lawrence, Kathleen D. "Kathy" Stackpole and her husband Jeffrey of Chelmsford, Brenda S. Carpenter and her husband Scott of Chelmsford, Scott W. Weisensee and his wife Kimberly (Sullivan) of Pelham, NH; eight grandchildren, Jason Brown of Tyngsboro, Kellieann Weisensee of Tewksbury, Shannon and Sydney Weisensee of Pelham, NH, Sean and Amanda Stackpole and Michael and Matthew Carpenter all of Chelmsford; two brothers, William Weisensee and his wife Nancy of GA, Richard Weisensee and his wife Eiko of KS; and many nieces and nephews, including Tina Robinson of Chelmsford and Terri Welch of Burlington.
He was also brother of the late Estelle Parker.
His funeral service was Saturday, July 2 in St. Anne's Episcopal Church, No. Billerica. Burial with Air Force Honors was at Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the MSPCA "Nevin's Farm," 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844 or any other Animal Shelter, are appreciated.
