Obituary

FRANKLIN: Walter D. Gagnon Sr. 85, a longtime Franklin resident died Wednesday morning June 29, 2011 at the Maples Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Wrentham, following a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Catherine J. (Farrell) Gagnon for 61 years.
Born in Laconia, New Hampshire January 8, 1926 a son of the late Joseph and Matilda (Oliver) Gagnon, he was raised and educated in New Hampshire and had lived in Franklin since 1944.
Mr. Gagnon retired from the Clark Cutler-McDermott Co. in Franklin where he worked as a machinist for 26 years. He also worked and retired from Dean Jr. College in Franklin where he worked in the maintenance dept.
He enjoyed travel, especially to the White Mountains in New Hampshire, and to Plymouth, Mass. He also loved visiting local Dunkin Donut Coffee shops.
Surviving in addition to his wife, he leaves a son Walter D. Gagnon Jr. and his wife Carrie of Milford, a daughter Nancy D. Long and her husband Tyler of Mansfield, 4 grandsons: Marc & Kevin Long and Joseph & Jack Gagnon.
He was also the brother of the late Maurice P. Gagnon and Doris Tradnack.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Friday, July 1st at 2:00PM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. www.oterifuneral.com . Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 12:30 to 2:00 PM.
