Anthony Perella, of Medford, died Tuesday in the Winchester Hospital. He was 69.
Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late Alfonse and the late Zilda (DiSalvo) Perella. Anthony lived most of his life in Medford and worked as a printer with the former Metcalf Printing Co., Boston. After his retirement he was employed by the Medford Police Department. Anthony served with the US Army Reserve for several years and was called to active duty for two years.He was an active member in many local organizations including the Medford Lodge of Elks, The Hillside Club, The VFW Post, Medford and the Amercan Legion.
He is survived by his wife Delores (Benvenuto) Perella, son, Vincent Perella, and daughter Susan Minchello and her husband Micheal all of Medford. He was a loving “grampy” to Matthew, Vincent, Jr. and Christopher.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 am at St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.Friends may visit Sunday from 4 thru 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be sent to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA.
