Gilbert J. Croghan, 93, of Swansea formerly of Fall River, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Clifton Rehabilitation Center in Somerset.
Born in Fall River, son of the late Gilbert J. Croghan, Sr. and the late Lillian (Gifford) Croghan, he had lived in Fall River for most of his life prior to moving to Swansea. A veteran of WWII, he served his country in the United States Army. He was a self-employed cabinet maker who restored and refinished antiques. Mr. Croghan enjoyed boating, animals and was a miniature collectables enthusiast.
Survivors include a niece: Julie Pelletier Hubert; a nephew: Eugene “Skipper” Pelletier; several cousins; and his faithful companion: “Daisy”.
He was brother of the late Violet Pelletier.
Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, July 1, 2011 at Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport at 11:00 AM.
