Mr. Antonio P. Goulart, of Taunton, died Tuesday, June 28 in Morton Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Mary L. (Barros) Goulart. He was born 68 years ago in Faial, Horta, Acores, Portugal, the son of the late Antonio P. and Maria L. (Rodrigues) Goulart, Sr. He was educated in Faial and had been a Taunton resident for the past 44 years. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a manager for Barrow Industries in Norwood and Taunton for over 20 years. He was previously employed at Rand McNally in Taunton for several years. A professional photographer, Antonio also owned and operated the Goulart Studio of Photography in Taunton for a number of years. Mr. Goulart served in the Portuguese Armed Forces before moving to the United States. He was a member of the Taunton Sports Club. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, cooking, music, spending time with his family, and was an avid soccer fan who followed the Benfica team. He was a communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Parish in Taunton.
He leaves: 2 daughters: Rosemary G. Loura and her husband, Daniel of Bridgewater, and Marjorie B. Goulart of Taunton; 1 stepson: George Dufresne, Jr. of Assonet; 2 stepdaughters: Anne M. Rounds of Assonet, and Laura J. Reynolds of Taunton; 4 grandchildren: Taryn Reynolds, George Dufresne, III, Cynthia Goulart, and Daniel Loura; 1 great grandson: Braiden Reynolds, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Goulart was also the stepfather of the late Michael Dufresne of Taunton.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Friday, July 1 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the Annunciation of the Lord Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
