Manchester– Pauline V. (Pelletier) Simard, 95, died June 27, 2011 at Elliot Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester on January 18, 1916 one of 3 children to Joseph and Adelaide (Beauchamp) Pelletier. She had been a lifelong resident of Manchester.
She was educated in the Manchester school system. She graduated from St. Joseph High School for Girls class of 1934, and then graduated with an Associates degree from Hesser Business College.
She was extremely proud of her work done with J. Edgar Hoover and the FBI in 1944 in Washington, DC. She worked alongside her beloved husband at Lugie Press, the company which they founded and operated from 1951 to 1971. After her husband’s passing, she did secretarial work for psychiatric research and development at the V.A. Hospital for 16 years, working until the age of 89.
She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Ludger F. Simard on February 5, 1989, and her daughter, Denise E. (Simard) Beaule on May 19, 2006.
Family members include 3 sons, Dr. J. Marc Simard of Baltimore, MD., Paul L. Simard of Concord, Donald R. Simard of Manchester, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In Her Life: She was predeceased by a grandson, Philippe F. Simard in 2010.
Services: Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM in St. Pius X Church, Candia Rd.
Burial will follow in St. Augustin Cemetery, South Beech St.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Sisters of the Precious Blood Monastery, 700 Bridge St. Manchester, NH 03104.
