Worcester – Donald C. “Adah” -"Louie" Cowes, 83 of Worcester died on Friday February 6 in the home of his daughter after an illness.
He leaves one daughter Paula J. Rader of Framingham; three sons Charles E. Cowes of Las Vegas, David A. Cowes of Lansing, MI and Phillip M. Cowes of Scottsdale, AZ; two sisters June Cowes and Olive Grady both of Worcester; three grandchildren Ariel and Anissa Rader of Framingham and Alexandra Cowes of Scottsdale, AZ and several nephews and nieces. Mr. Cowes is predeceased by two brothers Earl and Kendall Cowes and three sisters Frances Barry, Eunice Cowes and Vera Forsberg. Mr. Cowes was born in Worcester son of Frank and Ella (Smith) Cowes.
Mr. Cowes is an Air Force Veteran serving during World War II. He later worked for over 26 years as a planner and estimator for the United States Department of Defense before retiring in 1976.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday February 9 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester with a mass at 10:30 AM in Holy Name of Jesus Church 53 Illinois St. Worcester. A calling hour will be held on Monday morning from 9 to 10 AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Association.
