Irene Bryant, 73, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Monday, June 27, 2011 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at the Ocilla Church Of God with Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating. Eulogies will be given by Helen Davis and Gloria Ezell. Interment will follow in Brushy Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bryant was born May 15, 1938 in Dodge County. She lived in Fitzgerald most of her life. Mrs. Bryant graduated from Fitzgerald High School where she was a softball player. She got her beautician training from Wyleen Ware in Ocilla. Mrs. Bryant was a beautician for more than forty-four years and was owner/operator of Country Clippers. She was a member of the Ocilla Church Of God.
Mrs. Bryant is survived by her husband: Eulace Bryant of Fitzgerald; children: Sharon & David McMillan, Eddie Dorrity, Davis Dorrity, Jr., Kevin Bryant, Gregory Bryant, Joey Bryant and Mike Louthan all of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Jason & Tiffany Grubbs, Justin Grubbs, Ryan & Morgan Lindsey,Tommy Hobbs and Chuck & Becky Louthan; great grandchildren: Gabe Grubbs, Gavin Lindsey, Andrew & Matthew Louthan; sister: Mildred Jernigan of Wilcox County; brother: David Thompson of Baton Rouge, LA as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, L.J. & Jeanette Grantham, brother, Perry Jones and sister, Evelyn Jones.
