Mr. Harry R. MacNeill, a resident of Medford, formerly of Maine and beloved husband of the late Margaret MacVarish, died at the Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge on Saturday, June 25, 2011. He was 78 years old.
Born in Everett on August 11,1932, he was the beloved son of the late Elwin and Mary (MacPherson) MacNeill. Mr. MacNeill was a Korean war veteran. He had worked for Sunnyhill Farms in Sotneham for 27 years and then owned and operated Harry’s Dairies in Medford for the past 20 years. Mr. MacNeil was a very kind hearted person, always willing to help his family and friends.
He will be sorely missed by his living children; Martin J. and his wife Kathy A. MacNeill of Newton, NH and Richard D. and Frederick P. and his wife Valerie MacNeill, both of Medford and Robert D., Laurie A. and Susan P. MacNeill, all of Malden, siblings; Clara Roberto of FL, Gertrude Moulaison of Maine, 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Elwin A. and Joseph H. MacNeill.
His funeral mass was celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, Thursday at 9 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
