Obituary

FRANKLIN: Evert A. Swenson 90 a lifelong Franklin resident, died Friday June 24, 2011 at the Franklin Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Sophie C. (Ravinski) Swenson.
Born in Franklin, June 26, 1920 a son of the late Anselm and Anna (Johanson) Swenson he was raised and educated in Franklin. Mr. Swenson was a retired self employed carpenter and was the co-founder of Pine Tree Lumber Co. which became Franklin Homes, and later Franklin Lumber Co. on Dean Ave.
He served in the US Navy during WW II. He attained the rank of Aviation Ordnanceman 3rd class and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Medal, The American Theatre Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in February 1946.
He was a Life member of the Norfolk American Legion, and the National Rifle Assoc. He loved to take road trips with his family especially to Northern New England and Canada.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 67 years are 2 daughters: Susan K. Luccini and Anne F. Vendetti of Franklin, 4 grandchildren: Derek, Denise, Kellie and Christina, and 3 great grandchildren: Noah, Alex and Audrey.
He was also the father of the late David E. Swenson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Tuesday at 1:00 PM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Interment with military honors will follow in the family lot in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 noon to 1:00 PM.
