George Alex Souza, age 56 of Westport passed away June 24, 2011 after a long illness. He was the husband of Claire (DeGrand) Souza and son of the late George and Rosalie (Rupp) Souza. He was a construction worker with Pipeliner Union Local 798, a parishioner of St. George Church and a member of the Battleship Cove Emergency CB Club. He also worked for Civil Defense and was an avid fisherman.
George was the father of Jessica Souza and René Cruz both of Westport; brother of David J. Souza of Westport and the late Kenneth S. Souza; grandfather of Elicia and an uncle to several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home Inc., 1521 N. Main St., Fall River WEDNESDAY at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. George Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours TUESDAY 4-8 P.M.
