Kathleen V. Coholan, 92, of New Bedford died Friday June 24, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Mary T. (Duffy) Coholan, she was a lifelong New Bedford resident.
She was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
Miss Coholan was formerly employed as a secretary for the Acushnet Company until her retirement.
She was a graduate of Holy Family High School and attended Bryant College. She was a member of the Catholic Woman's Club, the Daughters of Isabella Hyacinth Circle, the Holy Name Women's Guild, and the Catholic Association of Foresters.
Survivors include her sister Louise N. Coholan of New Bedford; six nephews, Lawrence Finnerty and Thomas Coholan, both of New Bedford, Stephen Finnerty of Rochester, Mark Flanagan of Taunton, John Flanagan of Florida, and Dennis Coholan of California; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was the sister of the late John L. Coholan, Jr., Martha Finnerty, and Mary Flanagan, and aunt of the late Paul Finnerty.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
