Alton Lamar Hall, 72, of Ocilla, Georgia died Friday, June 24, 2011, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, June 27, 2011, at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla with the Rev. Jim McDuffie officiating. Interment will follow in the Mystic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Hall was born May 6, 1939 in Mystic, Georgia, to the late Herman Elisha and Ruby Tomberlin Hall. Mr. Hall graduated from Irwin County High School in 1958. He was a retired farmer and former employee of Young Tractor Company. He lived in the community all of his life and sang for weddings and funerals. Mr. Hall sang with groups at the Royal Singing Conventions. He was a past member of Ocilla Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Mystic Baptist Church.
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife Diann Johnson Hall of Mystic, Georgia; sister: Kathy H Crews of Douglas; brother and sister-in-law: Dennis and Michelle Hall of Virginia Beach, Virginia; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister.
