METHUEN – Frank J. Mistal, Jr. 75 of Methuen, MA passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA.
Frank was born in Lawrence on March 29, 1936, the son of Frank J. Mistal and Helen (Wojtaszek) Mistal. He graduated from Methuen High School in 1954 where he was an outstanding baseball pitcher. He also attended Lowell Technical School and DeVry Institute Correspondence School. He was a licensed General Radiotelephone Operator with the Federal Communications Commission and was a licensed Massachusetts Real Estate Broker.
He was one of the founding fathers of Methuen Youth Hockey. He was also a coach and referee. He was past co-athletic director for St. Monica’s Parish and past co-chairman of St. Monica’s Parish fair. Before Frank retired in 2001, he was employed at Lucent Technologies for approximately 30 years in electronic maintenance.
Frank was hardworking, strong, loving and generous. He enjoyed working around his beautiful home and yard, spending time with friends and neighbors, sports, and local politics. A devoted husband and father, he worked tirelessly for his family. His dedication to them was his passion in life.
Frank leaves behind his beloved wife of 54 years, Loretta (Merrill) Mistal. He is also survived by his children, Frank W. Mistal and his companion, Cheryl Clough, of Salem, NH; Linda Mistal of Andover, MA; and Maryann Dubay and her husband Karl of Windham, NH. and grandson Brad Dubay also of Windham, NH

His sister Geraldine Bergeron and her husband Alfred of Haverhill, MA
Frank was predeceased by his father, Frank J.Mistal, Sr.

Family and friends may call on Monday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00a.m. in St. Michael’s Church 196 Main Street North Andover, MA. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
