Frank H. Starr, 83, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, February 5, 2004, at his home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 7, 2004, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Waldorf officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald, Georgia. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Starr was born July 11, 1920, in Franklin County, Georgia, to the late Thomas Jefferson and Pearl King Starr. He moved to Fitzgerald in 1947 with Stone Motor Company, serving for thirty-two years as the general manager. For the past twenty-three years he has served as customer service manager at the Fitzgerald Water, Light & Bond Commission. Mr. Starr was co-owner of The Gift Gallery in Fitzgerald with his first wife, Onecia McClelland Starr, who preceded him in death. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. Mr. Starr was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the Mark Mathis Sunday School Class and former Administrative Board member.
Mr. Starr is survived by his wife: Thelma D. Starr, Fitzgerald, one daughter and son-in-law: Twinkle S. and Milton Abell, Athens, GA and three grandchildren: Adam Abell, Kennesaw, GA, Franklin Abell, Woodstock, GA and Allison Abell, Athens, GA., one brother: Charlie Starr, Gadsden, AL.
