Arlene F. sheidow, 89, of Dexter Road died Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Briarcliff Manor. She was the wife of the late William Sheidow and the late William “Cliff” Birtwell.
Born in Lincoln, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Emma (Curtis) Fales. She lived most of her life in Scituate.
Mrs. Sheidow who was better known in the Art Community as Arlene F. Birtwell was a well respected RI artist known for her watercolor paintings of flowers and birds. She was a member of the Providence Art Club, Providence Watercolor Club, the South County Art Association, Roger Williams Association, Glocester Country Club and North Scituate Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, A. Dianne Medbury of Scituate, William C. Birtwell of Farmington, ME, Suzanne C. Biggins of Waterbury, Ct and Robert C. Birtwell of Burrillville; eight grandchildren and two brothers, Lester P. Fales, Jr. of Clearwater, FL and F. Curtis Fales of Springhill, FL. She was the sister of the late Joseph Fales.
A memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held July 24, 2011 at 11:00AM in North Scituate Baptist Church, 619 W. Greenville Rd., North Scituate. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to North Scituate Baptist Church or Alzheimers Association, 245 Waterman St., Providence, RI 02906
