Katherine Delli Lewis, age 71, Jacksonville, GA passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Lewis was born on November 23, 1939 to the late Frank Jack and Ada Mae Davenport McCarty in Blue Ridge, GA. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Douglas, GA and she was a retired bookkeeper for Tecumseh. Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband: Samuel Oren Lewis; sons: Samuel Oren Lewis, Jr. and Frank Byron Lewis. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Sims Funeral Home Chapel with interment in the Douglas City Cemetery. Survivors include: daughter: Paula (Jim) Boone, Jacksonville, GA; son: Edgar Allen Poe Lewis, Augusta, GA; sister: Emma Anderson, Lenoir City, TN; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a niece; a nephew; stepson: Deen Clark; aunt: Gaynelle Cord, Duluth, GA. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 24, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
