Aloma Crowder Brown, 68, of 130 Martindale Drive, died at her residence on Sunday, June 19, 2011.
Born in Danville on October 17, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm James Crowder and
Mildred Rowland Crowder. On September 28, 1960, she was married to James E. Brown, Sr. who predeceased her.
She was a 1969 graduate of the Dan River Adult Evening High School; she had worked as office Manager for
Dr. Donna Helton for several years, retiring in 1996.
Aloma is survived by one son, James E. Brown, Jr., of Pound, VA, and one daughter, Angela Brown Parker
and her husband, Jason Parker, of Dry Fork; a granddaughter, Susan Parker Stanley and her husband,
L. T. Stanley of Mount Vernon, WA, and one grandson, Jameson Scott Parker, of Dry Fork. Also, an aunt,
Laura Von Eime and her husband, Garnett Von Eime, and an uncle, Richard Rowland and his wife, Wanda Rowland.
Services will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the mausoleum of Danville Memorial Gardens with the
Rev. Lee Von Eime officiating. The family will receive friends at the mausoleum one hour prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
Mrs. Brown wanted to thank her very special friends, Roosevelt (Stretch) Morrison, Terry Haraway,
Donna White, Peggy Mensavage, Loraine Simpkins and Peggy Rivers, for all of their love, support and kindness. In lieu
Of flowers, The family respectfully request that donations be made to the New Testament Baptist Church.
