Doris R. L'Etoile, 89, of Old River Rd., Manville, died Saturday morning at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Fernand J. “Star” L’Etoile.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Delvina (Bourget) Hetu. She resided in Woonsocket for most of her life and had lived in Manville for over 25 years.
Mrs. L’Etoile was employed by Uniroyal at the Woonsocket rubber plant. In her younger years she worked at the French Worsted mill where her late father was a manager.
Following her retirement Doris devoted her life to being a homemaker.
Doris was a member of the St. Agatha’s Senior Citizens group and enjoyed participating in day trips to various area attractions.
Doris’s love for and dedication to her family were paramount in her life.
She is survived by a son Gerard P. L’Etoile, and his wife Connie, of Auburn, IN, four daughters, Ruth F. Lanctot and Paulette Beauregard, both of Woonsocket, Denise R. Dubois, and her husband Dennis, of North Smithfield, and Linda J. Cherwinski, and her companion Luke Beaudoin, of Bellingham. She was the sister of the late Gerard and Jean-Paul Hetu, Muriel Puchta, Marie Michaud, and Pauline Labelle. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her funeral will be Wednesday at 8:30 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. James Church, Division St., Manville. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 5-8 pm.
