M. Jacqueline (Mahan) McKenna, 94, long time resident of Winchester, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, June 17, 2011. Jackie was the beloved wife of the late John J. McKenna. Devoted mother of Carol Malone of Sharon, John M. McKenna and his wife Nancy of Holden, Jacqueline McKenna of Winchester, Richard B. McKenna of Reston, VA and Kerry McKenna of Windham NH. Dear sister of Elizabeth Wyman of Wellesley and her late siblings Fred Mahan, Eleanor Wilkins, Chic Mahan, Thomas Mahan, and Ruth Darney. Loving Grandmother “Nonnie” of Tracey Dinan, Christopher Malone, Evan Malone, Cory McKenna, Duke Logan, Brett Logan and MacKenzie Logan. Loving Great-Grandmother of Georganne, Erika, Nelson, Jack and Ethan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jackie was born and educated in the Chestnut Hill area of Brookline. Her life was devoted to children...her own, and those that she cared for while running the Tom Thumb Play School for 27 years. Jackie was an avid Red Sox fan and truly loved the game as well as the players. She loved antiquing and spending time in Annisquam MA, but was happiest when she was with her family. Jackie lived a full and happy life, touching the lives of all she knew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday June 24th at 10 am, at St. Mary's Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester MA. Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester. Family and friends will gather for visiting hours at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St. Winchester MA on Thursday June 23rd from 4-8 pm.
