Francis J. "Frank" Saccardo, a resident of Hampton, New Hampshire for the last 8 years and a former resident of Tewksbury for 5 years and a former longtime resident of Charlestown, died suddenly at his home in Hampton, New Hampshire on Tuesday, June 14, 2011. He was 80 years old.
Frank was born in Boston and grew up in Charlestown where he attended schools there. He enlisted into the United States Army in 1951 and served his country proudly and honorably during the Korean Conflict. He was discharged as a Private First Class in 1953. Frank worked for several years with the M.B.T.A. and later became a Court Officer at the Massachusetts State House in Boston and retired in 1990. He was a member of the Conway/Bunker Hill American Legion Post # 26 and Bunker Hill Council # 62, Knights of Columbus.
Frank is the beloved husband of the late Josephine (Sevier) Saccardo. He is the loving Grandfather of Stephanie Saccardo and James Saccardo both of Charlestown. He is the beloved father-in-law of Grace Saccardo of Charlestown.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Frank's Funeral on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Interment at Veterans Administration National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:30 p.m. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, June 19, 2011 from 2 to 4 p.m.
