STARR, Mary Eleanor “El” – Of Westwood, formerly of Dedham and Framingham, died June 15, 2011. Born in Dedham to the late Francis and Mary (Ford) Starr, she was raised in Dedham. El spent her working career at Conrail Railroad until she retired after 44 years in 1986. She enjoyed golfing, traveling, her many close friendships and her cherished family.
She is survived by her sister Ruth McCarthy of Plymouth and her brother Frank and his wife Joan of Springhill, FL. She was predeceased by her sisters Dorothy Bourne, Marion Starr and Joan V. Embree. Cherished aunt of Elaine Finase, Patrice Embree-Fazzio, Paul F. Embree, Diane Clement, Christine Embree, Pamela Boch, George Cullen, William Starr, Dorothy Starr and Ellen Starr. Also survived by many loving grand-nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St. DEDHAM, Monday, June 20th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours omitted. Interment Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
