Leon Jack McCluskey, 78, of Tifton died Thursday, June 16, 2011, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2011, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Gary Cadwell will officiate with burial to follow in Lawrence Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 19, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. McCluskey was born on November 19, 1932 in Giles County, Tennessee and was the son of Alvin Robert McCluskey and Millie Turner McCluskey, both deceased. He was retired from ABAC, where he worked in the Physical Plant, and from the Agrirama. He was an avid fisherman and had a great sense of humor. He was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church. He also loved his dog and the Atlanta Braves.
Mr. McCluskey is survived by his wife, Ruby Keigans Walker McCluskey of Tifton; four sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Susan McCluskey, Lanny and Darlene McCluskey, Wade and Melissa McCluskey and Doug and Teresa McCluskey, all of Berrien County; two daughters and one son-in-law, Sonja and Greg Lucas of Valdosta and Paula McCluskey of Berrien County; 3 step-sons and their wives, Jehu and Shelly Walker of Saint Augustine, Florida, David and Cathy Walker of Berrien County and Jimmy and Lori Walker of Berrien County; 18 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
