Peggy Sumner, 60, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Thursday, June 16, 2011 at her residence.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, June 18 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Fisher officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours before the service at the funeral home.
Born July 11, 1950 in Fitzgerald to the late Elmer Lee “Bozo” and Marquita Elkins Jordan, she lived in Fitzgerald most of her life. She was a former substitute school teacher and a former employee of Halperins and Hybernias. Ms. Sumner was a member of Northside Baptist Church and the Red Hat Society. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed ceramics and spending time with her dogs.
She is survived by her daughter: Donna Burnam of Ocilla; sons: Michael (Kim) Sumner of Douglas and Tony French of Calhoun; grandchildren: Wade Sumner of Douglas, Will Burnam of Fitzgerald, Wade French of Calhoun and Kayla Ricketson; sisters: Patricia (Tony) Powell and Jan (Lew) Mays of Fitzgerald. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Pedrick.
