Obituary

Thomas C. Harmon 76, of Franklin, and a former longtime resident of Holliston, died Tuesday June 14, 2011 at the Franklin Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, following a long illness. He was the husband of Eleanor M. (Thorne) Harmon of Holliston, for 49 years.
Born in Newton, December 23, 1934 a son of the late John and Hazel (Sweet) Harmon, he was raised and educated in Newton. Until his retirement several years ago, Mr. Harmon was employed by the MetroWest Daily News in the circulation department for many years.
He served in the United States Navy following the Korean conflict. He attained the rank of Seaman 3rd class, and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in May 1958.
He was a member of the national Rifle Association, and enjoyed fishing & hunting.
Surviving in addition to his wife, is a son; Cameron Harmon of Orleans, 2 daughters; Caryl Rice and her husband Richard of Gilbertville, MA, and Julie Harmon of Holliston, a brother Dr. Millard Harmon of Delmar, NY, a sister Mary Horstick of Richmond, Kansas, 5 grandchildren; Jeremey, Nikki, Richard, Jenna & Sarah, 3 great grandchildren; Drew, Riley & Carter.
He was also the father of the late Linda Harmon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service with military honors Monday June 27, 2011 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, at 2:30PM.
Interment will follow.
