P>New Bedford – Maria F. Botelho, age 77 years, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at home with her loved one there. She was the wife of the late Tobias Botelho. Beloved mother of Mario J. Botelho, Jose T. Botelho, Alfred M. Botelho, Valentim A. Botelho, Esmeralda DaCosta all of New Bedford and Connie Botelho of Fall River. Maria was the sister of Amelia Barboza and Jose Afonso both of New Bedford and the late Bilmiro Afonso. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews
Mrs. Botelho was born in São Miguel Açores and moved here in 1969. She was a daughter of the late Maria Amelia (Botelho) and Joaquim Afonso. Mrs. Botelho was a homemaker.
Mrs. Botelho’s funeral will be Saturday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 7:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 8:45 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours are Friday evening from 5-8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
