Obituary

GREELEY, Walter F. Jr. - 52, of Hyannis and Wellesley, passed away suddenly on June 13. A graduate of Wellesley High School and Boston University, he worked with his uncle in the hotel business. Walter was a devoted and loving son to his parents, Alida and Walter. He was a thoughtful and generous brother to his sisters Robin and Jennifer and his brother, John, in addition to his brothers- and sister-in-law Michael Roderick, Samuel Parkman, and Carol Greeley. He was a doting, caring, and truly special uncle to his nephews, Carl and Curtis Greeley and his nieces, Alida and Emily Parkman. Walter was an interested and interesting man, licensed to build anything up to and including a suspension bridge. He could fix any car and any engine, which happily enabled him to keep his own cars running for hundreds of thousands of miles. Not only was he an able craftsman, he was a talented artist who took great joy in capturing the world around him in photographs. He was a man who was truly devoted to his family; one of his favorite times of year was Christmas because, as his niece pointed out, he liked the giving better than the getting. A Memorial Service will be held for Walter on Wednesday June 29th at 11am in The Wellesley Unitarian Universalist Church 309 Washington St. Wellesley Hills. Donations in Walter's memory may be sent to the Massachusetts Audubon Society. Arrangements by George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home.
