Florian M. Corriveau, 80 of Westport died Monday, June 13, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. He was husband of Germaine (Desrosiers) Corriveau.
Born in Fall River, son of the late Louis and Alphonsine (Levesque) Corriveau, he had lived in Westport since 1973. A career military man he served his country as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, serving his country in the Korean War and the Vietnam War where he received the Air Force Commendation Medal. Prior to retirement in 1992, he was a special investigator for the Defense Investigative Service in the Department of Defense. He was a Communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport, a member of the Association of Former O.S.I. Agents with the U.S. Air Force, the S.M.A.R.T. (Special, Military, Active and Retired Travel Club) and was past president of the Richelieu Club of Fall River. Mr. Corriveau enjoyed camping and traveling, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Including his wife, survivors include 2 sons: Fr. Michel G. Corriveau of Seekonk, MA and Ronald P. Corriveau of AK; 2 daughters: Louise Y. Levesque of Westport and Denise R. Wickam of San Antonio, TX; 4 grandchildren: Rachel and Megan Levesque, Nicole Botino and Kayla Irizarry; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late Fr. Raymond Corriveau O.P., Lucien Corriveau, George Corriveau, Gabriel Paquette, Mariette St. Pierre, Jean Desjardins and Diane Charest.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, June 17, 2011 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Thursday 5 - 8 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
