BEVERLY FARMS: Janet O. Gluckert, 93, died Monday, June 13, 2011 in the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Beverly Farms on December 22, 1917, she was the daughter of the late John O. and Anna (Larson) Gluckert. A lifelong resident of Beverly Farms, she was a graduate of Beverly High School.
Janet was employed as a real estate agent for many years at the former Leo M. Flynn Realty. She had also once worked for the famous Tat Saunders Dress Maker in Boston and as a young woman, she worked as a hostess for the New York – New Haven Railroad.
She was a former vice-president of the Beverly Chapter of the American Red Cross, former member of the Beverly Chamber of Commerce and a longtime Justice of the Peace.
She is survived by two nephews, Joseph and his wife, Denise Gluckert of Beverly Farms and David and his wife, Betsy Lawson of Manchester-by-the-Sea; three nieces, Elizabeth Gluckert of Wilmington, NC, Sally Lee of Mashpee and Elise Gluckert of Phoenix, AZ; a sister-in-law, Virginia (Brady) Gluckert of Sun City West, AZ and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was also predeceased by a sister, Anna Gluckert Lawson, two brothers, Joseph and Norman Gluckert and two nephews, Jeff Gluckert and Timothy Lawson.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday in the Beverly Farms Cemetery at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly from 5 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Hastings House, 14 Oak St., Beverly Farms, MA 01915.
