
Francis L.Parkhurst, 88, of Dorr Road in Scituate died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the husband of Patricia (Harrison) Parkhurst. They lived in Scituate since getting married and would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on June 25th.
Born in Framingham, MA, he was a son of the late Leroy and Florence (Parkhurst) Parkhurst.
He was a polisher in the jewelry manufacturing industry and worked for the former Coro Jewelry company for 40 years. He had also worked for Gorham-Textron. He was an Army veteran of WWII, where he in served in the Pacific and was in the 1901st. Corp. of Engineers. He was a member of the Steelworkers Union, the AMA since the 1940’s and was an avid Harley Davidson fan. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps.
He is also survived by his children, Carolyn Parkhurst of West Greenwich and Robert F. Parkhurst of Scituate, his grandsons, Thomas and Patrick Garvey, his brother, Donald Parkhurst of Warwick and his sister Shirley Harer of NY. He was the brother of the late Dottie, Bob and Everett Parkhurst.
Funeral service with military honors Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 11:30am the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will be private.
