Whitman – Rose I. (Rodophele) Cole 89, died Sunday June 12 after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert B. Cole.
Born and raised in Brockton she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Teresa (Muskovito) Rodophele and a graduate of Brockton High, Class of 1940.
Before her retirement she had been an inspector for Armstrong Cork for over 25 years.
Rose had been a resident of Whitman for over 50 years and was an active member of the Mother’s Club and Women’s Clubs both of Whitman. She was a longtime communicant of the Holy Ghost Church, and a member of the Ladies Sodality.
She loved to travel and was fortunate to have visited several locations, both in the United States and abroad.
She is survived by her daughters Judith Winnett of Middleboro, Rosemary Morgan of Hanson, and Pamela Lunny of Bellingham, and her grandchildren Jennifer Bernier of Carver, Stephen Winnett of Lakeville, Courtney Morgan of Rockland, Ryan Morgan of Halifax, Matthew Morgan of East Bridgewater, Sean and Lauren Lunny of Bellingham and Stephen Lunny of CA, as well as 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Thomas, Frank and Caroline Rodophele.
Her services will be held Friday June 17 at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Visiting hours will be held Thursday June 16 from 4-8 PM.
