Ida S. Gladstone of Canton and formerly of Chelsea died on June 11, 2011. She was 97 years old. Ida was the beloved wife of the late David Gladstone.
Ida was born in born in Chelsea and attended the Chelsea schools. She was a Secretary in a Psychiatric VA hospital. Ida was proud to have worked in Washington, D.C. during World War Two and was known as an excellent cook, grateous hostess, and devoted to family. She also loved singing and belonged to a choral group.
Ida was the devoted stepmother of Bonnie Winston and her husband Ronald and the late Richard Gladstone. She was the dear sister of the late Florence Skiddell. Ida was the loving grandmother of many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ida was the dear cousin of Saralee Mazur Salk and the late Thelma Mazur and the late Sarah Kushner.
Funeral services at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave. (Cary Sq.) Chelsea on Sunday, June 12 at 1:00 PM. Interment in Everett. Contributions in Ida’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
