Honorata E. (Siwik) Dziura, 90, of New Bedford died Friday June 10, 2011 at Sacred Heart Home after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Dziura.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Adam and Eleonora (Slachetka) Siwik, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
Mrs. Dziura was formerly employed as a seamstress at various area clothing manufacturing companies before retiring from Vogue Manufacturing in 1981.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and doing crosswords puzzles.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Sacred Heart Home, especially the staff of St. Joseph's Unit, for the care given to their mother during her stay there.
Her family includes her children, Diane Dziura of New Bedford and Joseph S. Dziura and his wife Anne of Dartmouth; her granddaughters, Sarah and Hannah Dziura; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Genowefa Nicewicz, Anna Galanek, and Joseph Siwik.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
