Obituary

Roland W. Bumpus Sr., of Plymouth, died on June 10th at the Coyne Healthcare Center in Rockland at the age of 94. The husband of the late Eldean Taylor (Knight) Bumpus, Barbara Sampson Bumpus, and Dorothy Thomas Bumpus Davidson. He is survived by his daughter in law Anne B. Bumpus of Kingston, a brother Leroy of Plymouth, 5 grandchildren Nadine Bumpus Kane of Kingston, Duane Davidson of Falmouth, Michael Davidson of Manomet, Steven Davidson of WI, Scott Davidson of RI,12 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and his son-in-law Frederick Davidson of Plymouth. Father of the late Roland Bumpus Jr. and Dorothy Davidson and brother of the late Allan and Richard Bumpus. Born and raised in Plymouth, Roland attended Plymouth schools and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He had worked for the Town of Plymouth Highway Department, was a member of the Plymouth Rod and Gun Club and the American Legion Post 40. Roland enjoyed hunting, fishing but mostly spending time with his family. Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St (Rte 3A), N. Plymouth on Wednesday June 15, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday June 16, at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at Chiltonville Cemetery in Plymouth.
