Died peacefully on June 8, 2011. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe. Loving mother of Linda (George) Ashfield, Craig & Scott; proud grandmother to Joseph (Susan) Ashfield, Michael Colin Ashfield, Phillip (Cailin) Ashfield & Brian (June) Sarner; great grandmother to Brooks & Finley Ashfield. Betty loved and was loved by countless friends and relatives. As an employee of North High School, she delighted in the achievements of all students and was a true Polar fan. Visitation Thursday (6/16) 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sandberg Funeral Home, 2593 E. 7th Ave., North St. Paul. Memorial service 12:30 PM at American Legion Post 39, 2678 E. 7th Ave., North St. Paul with luncheon to follow. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. A 1941 Monroe graduate, Betty served in the US Navy and was an active member of the American Legion. Family requests memorials to the Legion Post 39 baseball team, NSP Food Shelf or donor's choice.
