BRIDGEWATER - Doris M. Sprague, 90, of Bridgewater died Feb. 1, 2004 at Brockton Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in South Boston on May 16, 1913, she was the daughter of the late John and Louise (Graham) Sprague and had been a Bridgewater resident for the past 88 years.
She graduated from Bridgewater Academy High School and received her master's degree in teaching from Bridgewater State College, where she was an associate professor for many years.Miss Sprague also worked as principal at the Burnell School in Bridgewater for many years.
She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Bridgewater.
She is survived by a niece, Jane Ruprecht of Halifax; a nephew, John E. Sprague of Bridgewater; great-aunt of Andrew Ruprecht, Tamra Davidson Wilcox, Robert Davidson Jr., Jolie Sprague-Martin, John Sprague and Nicole Sprague and great great-aunt of Mathew Smith, Nathan Martin, Kayla Martin, David Wilcox Jr., Robert Davidson and Matthew Davids. She was the sister of the late John L. Sprague.
Her funeral service will be at 8:15 a.m. Saturday from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
