Floyd T. Stripling, 69, of Irwinville, Georgia, died Monday, February 2, 2004, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, February 4, 2004, at Irwinville Baptist Church with Rev. Huey Nichols, Rev. Stan Bowen and Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Irwinville Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday evening at Paulk Funeral Home in Ocilla.
Mr. Stripling was born June 29, 1934, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Clarence L. and Lillie Mae Howell Stripling. He lived in the Irwinville community all of his life. Mr. Stripling was a farmer and an employee of South Central Livestock, Inc. He was a member, Deacon, former R.A. leader, Training Union Director and Sunday School Director at Irwinville Baptist Church. He was a member of Gideon International.
Mr. Stripling is survived by his wife: Janet Carver Stripling, Irwinville; two sons: Thomas Stripling, Irwinville and Jack Stripling, Douglas; two daughters: Sandra Fussell, Irwinville and Denise Jones, Tifton; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two sisters: Vivian Sandiford, Columbus and Edna Sizemore, Valdosta. Mr. Stripling was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Segrid Dianna Stripling, one brother, Loyd Stripling and one sister, Lillie Pearl Stripling.
