In Taunton, June 6, 2011, Charles J. Perry, age 81 passed away in Morton Hospital following a lingering illness. Charles leaves his longtime companion Joyce Hudson of Taunton and Punta Gorda, FL. He was born in Dennis, MA. to his late parents John & Jennie (Sylvia) Perry. Charles moved to Taunton and has resided here since 1962 and has enjoyed spending winters in Punta Gorda, FL. He was a graduate of Yarmouth High School class of 1948. He served his country in the U. S. Marine Corp. during the Korean War. Charles was the Owner of Charles J. Perry Construction Co. in Taunton, a truck driver and equipment operator most of his life. He also was a driver for Robin’s Corner Flower Shop in Taunton for over ten years. Charles was a communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle Church, a member of teamsters local #653. He enjoyed dancing, the Red Sox, Patriots and taking cruises. Charles leaves his children; Alan Perry of Taunton, Wanda Lanzetta of Brandon, FL., Michael Perry of Valrica, FL., Donna Perez & her husband Gary of Anna Maria Island, FL., Lisa Perry of Valrico, FL. and Verna Howell of Tampa, FL. He also leaves eight grandchildren. His brother Anthony Perry of Forestdale, MA.his sister Frances Perry of San Francisco, CA. and his late siblings; Manuel, Eugene, John Jr., Jack, Claire Fell and Mary Azevedo. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, Ma. 02780 on Tuesday, June 14th at 9am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Taunton at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday from 4-7pm. Interment in the family lot in South Dennis Congregational Church Cemetery, Main St. in S. Dennis at approximately 12:30pm.
