Carl J. Brewster, age 81 of Brockton died Saturday May 28, 2011 at Signature Healthcare-Brockton Hospital. He was born in Binghamton, New York. Carl was a WW II and Korean veteran serving his country in the United States Army and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Brockton, Massachusetts and Rhode Island chapters and was a member of the VFW Post 1046. Carl enjoyed gardening and his favorite quote was “So Mote it Be.”
He is survived by his wife Caroline (Atkinson) Brewster, his children Carlann Harris of Kentucky, Carl James Brewster of Key West, Fl, John Brewster of Bellevue, Washington, Shawn G. Brewster of VT and the late Holly Carol Brewster. He was the brother of Alma Blaine of VA, Eleanor Knapp of NV, Kathryn Valentina of CA, Shirley Dightman of VA and Jeanne League of NC. Also survived by 13 grandchildren.
Visitation and Masonic Service will be held on Saturday June 11, 2011 from 1-2pm in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton with Military Honors to follow.
