Mr. Bobby Rex Simmons, age 76, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. He was born on September 6, 1934 to in Surry County to the late William Sanford and Georgia Bernice Cain Simmons. Mr. Simmons retired from Wellington Industries and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Simmons is survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters, Leland Simmons, Opal Love, Blanche Ayers, Frankie “Helen” Hayes, William “Bill” Simmons, Frances Simmons and Sally Bowers. A Graveside service will be conducted on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Simmons Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Billy Smith as the speaker. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the Simmons Home at 131 Simmons Road, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Joan and Howard Woltz Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
