Irene Vickers Paulk, age 86, Ambrose, GA passed away suddenly on June 6, 2011 from a train/auto accident, along with her son: Winston Paulk. Mrs. Paulk was born in Wray, GA to the late Daniel and Mamie Paulk Vickers. She was a homemaker and she was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Mrs. Paulk was the widow of Shelton Paulk. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2011 in the New Hope Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with interment following in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include: daughter: Melinda (John) Maxheimer, Richmond Hill, GA; daughter in law: Doralyn D. Paulk, Ambrose, GA; five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
