MILLBURY-Bessie V. (Tracy) Bates, 95, of 312 Millbury Avenue formerly of 1050 Main Street, Worcester and Westborough died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, February 1st in Millbury Healthcare Center. Her husband Paul R. Bates died in 1954. She leaves her daughter Shirly R. Ellis of Worcester, 2 sisters Christine Collar and Mary Robshaw both of Maine, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. Her son George C. Bates, her daughter, Priscilla E. Beaucage, 2 brothers Basil and Lonnie Eaton, 2 sisters Flossie and Livonia Collar and a granddaughter predeceased her.
She was born in Franklin, ME the daughter of Solomon D. Tracy and Ada M. (Small) Tracy-Eaton. Mrs. Bates worked as a cook and a waitress for several area restaurants for many years, until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and reading.
Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Activity Fund of Millbury Healthcare Center, 312 Millbury Avenue, Millbury, MA 01527. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester is directing arrangements.
