DANVERS—Catherine Priscilla (McInnis) Comeau, 83, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 29, 2011 while vacationing with her family in the Caribbean. She was the loving wife of Charles L. Comeau, with whom she shared sixty-one years of marriage.
Born in Danvers on Jan. 3, 1928, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Dykes) McInnis. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a 1945 graduate of Holten High School.
Mrs. Comeau was employed as a secretary at Vulcan Electric and Sylvania on Boston Street before leaving her career to raise her family. For many years, she was the office manager at Comeau Sheet Metal of Danvers.
A communicant of Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, she enjoyed knitting, bowling, and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she leaves two children, Catherine Swift and her husband Peter and Charles Comeau Jr. and his wife Jo-Ann, all of Danvers, five grandchildren, Jessica McWalters and her husband Sean of Wakefield, and Jennifer and Christopher Comeau, Sean Swift, and Brian Swift and his fiancée Annmarie Bowering, all of Danvers, two sisters, Florence Mackey of Salem and Annie Zaremba of Chelsea, two brothers, Charles McInnis of Beverly and James McInnis of Danvers, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Elizabeth Perry, Mary Simard, and Joseph McInnis.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 9AM in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-8PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.
