Edward D. DeMoranville, 62, of New Bedford, died June 6, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in Acushnet, the son of the late Everett and Adella Z. (Scieszka) Arruda, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
Mr. DeMoranville was formerly employed as a purchasing agent for the Woods Hole-Martha's Vineyard Steamship Authority until his retirement.
He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 59 and the Knights of Columbus. He served on the Advisory Committee of the Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational High School.
Survivors include a son, Troy DeMoranville of Michigan; his best friend and caretaker, James Laranjo of Taunton; three brothers, Frederick DeMoranville of Tucson, AZ, David DeMoranville of Dartmouth, and Steven Arruda of East Freetown; a sister, Patricia E. Andrade of Assonet; several grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Richard E. DeMoranville.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 9 AM in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
