ANDOVER — Patricia B. (Bern) Barrett, 93, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Wingate at Andover.
She was born in Andover on Feb. 11,1918., the daughter of the late Patrick and Catherine (Rooney) Barrett.
She was a graduate of Punchard High School, Class of 1935 and also Mclntosh Business School. She was employed for many years prior to her retirement by the Andover National Bank. She was a former member of the Andover Country Club where she enjoyed many seasons of playing golf. She was also an accomplished knitter and enjoyed tune spent with other knitters at the North Andover Senior Center as well as the Knitwits at the Andover Senior Center.
Bern is survived by a sister-in-law, Constance Barrett of Andover; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Alice, Catherine, Marguerite, and Elizabeth; and brothers, William, Frederick and Joseph.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours were held on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from 11:30-12:30 p.m. at Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 N. Main St., Andover. Her Funeral Mass was held at 1 p.m. in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex St., Andover. Many relatives and friends are respectfully attended. Burial was in St. Augustine Cemetery, Andover. Arrangements were handled by the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main St., Andover.
