John J. "Jack" Seward, a 5 year resident of Woburn and former longtime Charlestown resident, died suddenly while at work on Sunday, June 5, 2011. He was 62 years old.
Jack was born in Boston on September 12, 1948 to the late William and Marie (Parent) Seward. Jack grew up in Charlestown where he attended St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1966. Jack has been working with the general maintenance operations for Macy's Department Stores for the last 18 years. He enjoyed golfing and rooting for the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins. He was a member of U.F.C.W. Local # 1445, 520 Club of Charlestown and The Old Charlestown Schoolboy's Association.
Jack is the devoted and loving husband of 4 years to Nancy M. (McLaughlin-McCaffrey) Seward. He is the beloved father of Kelly Seward of Florida, Erin Stern of Florida and Meghan Donovan of Charlestown. He is a special friend to Kevin McCaffrey of Watertown. He is the loving Papa Jack to Tuesday, Emma, Hanna, Kyleigh, Liam and Delaney. He is the beloved brother of Karen Seward and her husband Jerry Muller of Hudson, New Hampshire, Lorraine Creamer of Fitchburg, Kevin Seward of Charlestown, Richard Seward of Charlestown and the late Bobby Seward. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jack's Funeral on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Roxbury. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m.
