Obituary

Frank J. Clare, Jr., age 92, of Winchester, passed away on June 5, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Mildred (Lawson) Clare.

Born and raised in Arlington, MA, he was the son of the late Frank J. and Pauline (Hatfield) Clare. Frank was a graduate of Arlington High School and Peterson School of Engineering.

A U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, Mr. Clare was employed for over 46 years as a Power Plant Engineer with Cambridge Electric Light, retiring in 1980, and was a member of the William Parkman Lodge of Masons.

In addition to his wife, Mildred, Frank is survived by his loving children; Linda M.C. Guerrette and her husband Paul of Danvers and Frank J. Clare III and his wife Pamela of Bedford. He was also the dear brother of Helen Traverse Doughty of CT and the late Phyllis Kirkwood, Priscilla Wright Manter and Arthur Clare and the devoted grandfather of Graig and Erik Guerrette of Danvers and Victoria and Valerie Clare of Bedford. Many nieces and nephews further survive Mr. Clare.

Funeral services will be held on Thurs. June 9th in the First Congregational Church, 21 Church St., Winchester (on the Common) at 10AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Wed. from 5-8PM. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Pine Knoll Nursing Center Activities Fund, ATTN: Sandra Lawson, 30 Watertown St., Lexington, MA 02421.
