William “Norman” Manders, 60, of Sumner died Sunday, June 5, 2011, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Sumner Cemetery. Rev. Eddie Hutcheson will officiate. The body will lie in state at the residence at 111 First Street in Sumner, where the family will receive friends, until the hour of the service.
Mr. Manders was born on November 11, 1950 in Worth County and was the son of William Norris Manders and Emma Pearl Holmes Manders, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Manders and Jerry Manders. He was a self-employed truck driver and a member of Tifton’s First Assembly of God. He was a United States Army veteran and had lived in Worth County most of his life.
Mr. Manders is survived by his wife, Karon Walker Manders of Sumner; two sons, William Kelly Manders of Sumner and Robby Manders of Ashburn; three daughters, Carla Manders of Tifton, Jennifer Kay Rinefierd of Cornelia and Brandy Marie Garcia of Omega; one brother, Ricky Manders of Sumner; three sisters, Janey Paul of Sumner, Joyce Benefield of Sylvester and Betty Powell of Tifton; and seven grandchildren.
