Shane McCarthy, 42, of Londonderry died Saturday June 4, 2011 at his residence. He was born April 20, 1969 in Nashua and was a son of Bonnie (Malburne) and the late Peter McCarthy. Mr. McCarthy was raised and educated in Hudson, and had resided in Londonderry for the past 14 years. Mr. McCarthy was a landscape design specialist for most of his working life. He was formerly the owner of McCarthy Landscaping services for 25 years, and had recently been a landscaping maintenance foreman with Sovereign Realty of Londonderry. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed hunting and fishing, snowmobiling in Pittsburg, and boating. He was member of the NH Snow Shakers Snowmobile Club of Canterbury, NH and a former member of the Pittsburg Ridge Runners. He loved his dogs, Hunter, Babygirl, Saber and Bobo, and will long be remembered as a loving father, husband, brother and friend.
Members of the family include his mother of Hudson, two daughters, Alisha McEwen of Derry and Emily McCarthy of Londonderry, his wife of 17 years, Mary (Boulette) McCarthy of Londonderry, a step-son Steven Boulette of Nashua, four sisters, Cathlin Cote, Laura Cameron, Elizabeth Eastman and Ashleigh McCarthy, and a brother Paul McCarthy, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Peter in February of this year.
A memorial reception was held Wednesday June 8th from 4 to 6:30pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry with a memorial service that followed at 6:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Kennel Club, 8051 Arco Corporate Drive, Raleigh, NC 27617-3390.
